This abandoned hotel from the 1980s is believed to be haunted by the ghosts of those who died during the construction.

The 'Ghost Palace Hotel'

The hotel may once have been a place of great beauty - but now this it is a creepy, crumbling shadow of what it once was.

Mirror Online reports that Jacob Laukaitis, a keen traveller, discovered the abandoned hotel in the middle of a jungle in Bali.

And after spending hours exploring the property, Jacob decided to take video footage to share his mysterious find with the rest of the world.

In the clip, hotel rooms complete with ensuite bathrooms are left to rot, while a pair of flip flops lie eerily in one of the entranceways.

Outside, the terraces are all overgrown with weeds and vines while the extravagant statues have been left to crumble.

It is thought the building used to be an opulent property built for rich guests visiting the island after being constructed in the 1990s.

Some say the hotel went bankrupt before ever going into business and believe it was 'cursed' by a corrupt property developer who tried to compete with other hotels on the island by undercutting their prices.

Others are convinced it is haunted by labourers who may have died during the construction of the hotel after being forced to work in an unsafe environment.

Jacob published his video on YouTube on December 1, and it has already had more than 12,800 views .

Alongside the clip he wrote the short caption: "I discovered a massive abandoned hotel in Bali and spent hours exploring it.

"Locals call it 'The Ghost Palace Hotel'."
