An emotional performance by one of the
remaining contestants in West Africa’s hottest reality TV show, Dance
with Peter, attracted the sympathy of show originator and judge, Peter
Okoye of PSquare.
In last night’s broadcast of the show
sponsored by Globacom, beautiful G-Xtreme put up such a moving
performance that drew tears from her eyes and those of some members of
the audience. She told the judges and audience that her dance was a
tribute to her dad who was lying sick in hospital. His emotional display
touched Peter who immediately offered to underwrite the cost of
treating her father.
‘Whatever it will cost to get your dad
well again, I will take care of it,” Peter declared as tears of
gratitude rolled down G-Xtreme’s face.
It was the third time Peter had
displayed such generosity in the course of the show. During the
audition, the musician had given N100,000 to a contestant who said he
was unable to go back to school because he could not pay his school
fees. On another occasion, Peter removed his shoes right on stage and
handed them over to a contestant who came wearing tattered shoes.
There was also a bit of drama last night
as the three judges, Peter, Kaffy and Don Flexx, brought back crowd
favourite Mali Hot Boi who was evicted from the show a few weeks back to
rejoin the academy. The audience and other contestants cheered as the
strikingly handsome dancer was ushered onto the stage.
Another exciting moment was when the
three judges chose to save one of the four contestants who were up for
eviction, after the voting public had earlier saved Tee Jay. Miracle
was saved, while MX, Nekky and Messiah’s journey in the show came to an
end.
With the eviction of the three, the
number of contestants left in the academy was further reduced to nine.
Mali Hot Boi’s return however brings the number to 10. They will now
perform in pairs in next week’s episode.
