Some days back a Facebook User with the name, Prince Gwamnishu Harrison paid a visit to a prison in Delta State and he was appalled by the conditions of the inmates there.
Below is what he wrote:
“Today I visited a prison in Delta State Nigeria. This is their condition. No medical facility, no drugs. They are dying. I was able to get a lawyer who has promised to defend them so they can leave prison and get quick medical attention.They can’t urinate, they can’t stand for 10minutes. Our laws says they are Innocent until proven guilty. They deserve a better life.I stand with Yali Network to bring awareness to our government on the need for the welfare of Nigeria Prisoners’
Then just 2 days ago he Spoke about a new development,
Harrison, said: “Congratulations to this great house. I’m using this medium to thank you all for your good work. Currently David Okolie and Peter Onyema are in Federal Medical Centre since yesterday receiving medical attention.
Thanks to the Presidency through Minister of Interior Lt-Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau and controller General Nigeria Prison Mr. Ahmed Ja’afaru for their quick intervention and a group of persons who dropped #100,000 with the Prisons for their treatment.
Thanks to All #YALI Members worldwide, Stephen & Solomon Foundation, Joint Legal Action Aids and Facebook friends for your support and prayers. To the Media and one magical man I respect who used his resources and still using to disseminate information to the public.
For those whose toes I have stepped on in carrying out my lawful duty, join me let’s reason together. Thanks to many people too numerous to mention. Also Great men and women Globally who supported me.”
