Hullabaloo as man gets pe_nis stuck in enlargement machine,fails to get it off
First it was city women with small br_easts and bu_tts using concoctions to enlarge their bu_sts and behinds, or wearing enhancers to create the impression they had bigger ‘assets.’Now men in Nairobi have been bitten by the ‘bigger is better’ bug. Just having a fuel guzzler, palatial home and expansive parcels of land is no longer enough. The real man now also has to pack a ‘bazooka’ in his boxers.
It is the ultimate, it seems, to be super endowed with roaring horse power fuelled by the ‘blue pill.’ This is the age of the pe_nis enlarger. But for a 26-year-old man, the desire to have a formidable firearm ended at Kenyatta National Hospital where medics tried to save whatever remained of his ‘tools of trade’ after his manhood got tangled up in an enlargement device.
The patient cannot be named due to doctor-patient confidentiality, but he consented to his case being used as a medical case study in the October 2015 issue of the International Journal of Surgery in which local doctors Faraj Alkizim, Daniel Kanyata, Joseph Githaiga and Joseph Oliech described how they managed to pull off a ring that had ‘choked’ the pe_nis of the patient in an article titled Tight Affair, for more than 12 hours.
The International Journal of Surgery notes that Kenyatta National Hospital admitted the 26-year-old male patient who was presented to the casualty department from a peripheral facility after he “complained of inability to remove a pe_nile ring, pe_nile pain and inability to pass urine.”
According to the doctors, the pe_nile ring had been inserted the previous evening at 7pm as part of a pe_nile enlargement kit the patient had bought.
The kit had instructions on how to place the ring around the pe_nis for three hours every two weeks. He had previously successfully removed it as he followed the enlargement regimen. The doctors said that the delay to seek medical help led to gradual enlargement of the pe_nis with darkening of the glans. He was also unable to urinate and had developed abdominal pain.
“An attempt to remove or cut the ring in a minor theatre was unsuccessful as the ring was too thick for the available cutters,” notes the doctors in the journal. They explained that, “A sharp prick with a blade was made on the pe_nis. About 100 ml of clotted, dark venous blood was milked out. This enabled a decrease in the pe_nile circumference and nylon tape was slipped underneath the ring.”
After an hour of repeatedly slipping the nylon tape under the ring, wrapping the distal end tightly around the pe_nis, and pulling the proximal end of the nylon tape in a circumferential manner, the doctors were able to slip the ring off the pe_nis.

Illegal charges: CBN issues directive to banks
– CBN kicks against the fleecing of banking customers by deposit banks
– Urges bank customers to forward complaints of excessive bank charges
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said it mandated deposit money banks (DMBs) to refund N6.2 billion to customers they over charged as cost of transactions in 2015.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the directive by the apex bank was contained in a statement made available by the director, corporate communications, of the CBN Ibrahim Mu’azu, in Abuja on Saturday, February 20.

Therein the statement, CNB stated that banks were allowed to make charges for banking services but stated that it does not in any way condone the fleecing of banking customers under any guise.
It noted that the reason for the establishment of a Consumer Protection Department by the CBN in 2012 was to to provide a strong voice to banks’ customers and moderate the arbitrary charges.
“The CBN has investigated over 6,000 complaints relating to unauthorised bank charges brought to its notice, following which banks have been compelled to refund N6.2 billion to affected customers in 2015 alone.
“The CBN wishes to reiterate its resolve to continuously enforce the provision of the Revised Guide to Bank Charges and urges members of the public to report cases of infringement to enable it investigate and apply sanctions on any erring DMB”, the apex bank stated.

The CBN also urged bank customers to forward complaints of excessive bank charges to its consumer protection department.
Customers of banks in Nigeria have in recent times complained about several charges associated with banking activities.
The charges in no particular order are the maintenance fees which some banks are now charging monthly on current accounts, value added tax on virtually every charge against a customer, including that on SMS.
There are charges for transfers both online and over the counter, remote-on-us (charges incurred for using other banks’ ATM in withdrawing money more than three times in a month).

30-yr-old soldier kills wife in Nasarawa
A 30-year-old soldier attached to the Nigerian Army, 177 Guards Battalion, Keffi, Abubakar Musa, has allegedly killed his wife, Anitu Hauwa Abubakar.
The soldier who allegedly fled the crime scene at the Shitu Alao barracks, Keffi has, however, been arrested by the state police command.
It was gathered that the suspect had been on the run for over six years and four months.
Parading the suspect at the state Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department, the state command Police Public Relations Officer, Numan Ismaila, said the suspect, who hails from Birni-Kebbi, Kebbi State was arrested on February 8, 2016 by the Nigerian Army and handed over to the police for prosecution.
“The suspect, after he killed his wife, escaped to an unknown destination, but he was eventually arrested by the Nigerian Army and brought to a police division in Keffi for prosecution,” Sumaila said.
He informed our correspondent that the suspect had been tried by the Nigerian Army provost.
“The deceased was killed in the barracks and was found in the pool of her own blood after she was allegedly killed by her husband who escaped to an unknown destination. He later re-appeared and was arrested and tried by the Nigerian Army provost.
“He was subsequently dismissed and handed over to the Nigerian Police for prosecution and the state CIID in Lafia to investigate the matter,” the police spokesman said.
Meanwhile, detectives attached to the Angwan Lambu Police Station in Keffi also arrested one suspected cult member and a student of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Mr. Emmanuel Obi, who allegedly conspired with one Ajadi Adewale Odiri, who is at large, to beat another student, Helen Dangwa, to death.
According to Ismaila, another student of the said institution, Mrs. Aruna Jenifer Avorome, made a report at the Angwan Lambu Police Division, Keffi that her friend, who was allegedly beaten by two suspected cult members, was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi for treatment, where she was confirmed dead by a doctor.
According to the police spokesperson, preliminary investigations revealed that both Obi and Odiri went along with the deceased to the room of Timi Egbejule of Angwan Lemu and ordered the said Timi out of the room, beat the deceased to a state of coma and fled.
According to him, both suspects fled but Obi was later arrested with the command still on the trail of Adewale.
He maintained that the deceased and the suspects are students of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, noting that the state CIID had since commenced full investigation into the incident.

Boy, 15, becomes king in Delta after father’s murder
Fifteen-year-old Chukwuka Noah became Obi (king) Akaeze I of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday.
Obi Akaeze I succeeded his father, the late Obi Akaeze Edward Ofolue III, who was kidnapped and subsequently murdered by gunmen in January.
The presentation of the 15-year-old followed the fulfilment of different rites that led to his crowning as king by the kingmakers of Ubulu-Uku.
He was first presented to the members of the royal family before the presentation to the council of elders at the palace.
The brief ceremony was attended by prominent citizens of the kingdom, including a member of the House of Representatives representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Mrs. Onyemaechi Mrakpor and the President-General of Ubulu-Uku Development Union, Mr. Jones Ofunne.
Also in attendance was the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Mr. Isaac Anwuzia, traditional chiefs and title holders, religious leaders, women, youths and other stakeholders in the kingdom.
Speaking on the significance of the ceremony, Secretary of the Palace, Mr. Joseph Obazei described it as “wonderful in our time.” He said, “This is a young man who was not even looking up to this position because his father was young and vibrant. Unfortunately, this bad event occurred.
“He has now been thrust upon the throne taking up the mantle of his late father. Ubulu-Uku people are very happy that we have somebody who has taken up the throne because the king never dies.
“When it appears that there is no king, there is already a king. That is what has just happened.” Obazei told our correspondent that in Ubulu-Uku tradition, there were not too many rites to the installation of a new king.
He said, “By our tradition, you can wake up in the morning and see the heir apparent sitting on the throne and issuing commands which will be obeyed. That will tell that something happened in the night and something has happened now.
“So, this young man has taken over the stool of his father, and now he can begin to give direction to the town.”
Anwuzia assured the new king and people of Ubulu-Uku of his administration’s support, saying that measures were already being taken to ensure the presentation of staff of office by the state government.
