Yoruba king Abandons Oba Title, Becomes Emir (Photos)

The Oluwo of Iwoland in Osun state, Oba Adbulrasheed Akanbi, Saturday, made history when he dropped the the title of Oba and declared his resolve to adopt the Emir title popularly known with Northern traditional rulers.

Speaking at the installation and turbarning ceremony of an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yahquub Abdul-Baaqi Mohammed as first Waziri of Yoruba land, Oba Akanbi said he decided to now bear “Emir of Iwoland” because he wants to emulate the attitudes of northern Emirs.

According to Oluwo, Northern traditional rulers are better behaved than his counterparts from the Southwest, saying Yoruba Obas are full of bickering, acrimony and enmities.

He said Yoruba traditional rulers lack cooperation and expected royal characters, saying the Yoruba Obas have been polarized owing to enmities.

Oba Akanbi said until Yoruba Obas come together, shun enmities and backbiting, Hausas would continue to rule Nigeria. “I have decided to officially adopt Emir title today because I want to emulate the attitudes of Northern Emirs.

They don’t begrudge themselves like Yoruba Obas. It will surprise you to discover that for the past two years, there has not been meeting of Yoruba traditional rulers just because of enmities. There is nothing strange in adopting Emir title.

I am the Emir of Yorubaland,” Oluwo said. Meanwhile, he also installed and turbarned an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yahquub Abdul-Baaqi Mohammed, as the first Waziri of Yoruba land.

The installation of the Waziri was against warning served on him by the League of Imams and Alfas in Southwest Nigeria, Edo and Delta States, asking him to desist from installing Alhaji Mohammed as the Waziri of the Southwest.

Gold Casts Of Icon Nelson Mandela’s Hands Sell For $10Million

Late former South African President Nelson Mandela may be no more, but his legacy still lives on. The first black president of South Africa has had a gold cast of his hands sold for a whopping $10 (£7m) in bitcoin.
Canadian crypto-currency exchange firm Arbitrade bought four casts from South African businessman Malcolm Duncan.

The firm said it planned to launch a global “Golden Hands of Nelson Mandela” tour to educate young people about the anti-apartheid icon’s life. This is the first time artefacts of Mr Mandela have been sold in bitcoin. Mr Mandela was jailed for 27 years for fighting white minority rule in South Africa.

He was released in 1990, and served as president from 1994 to 1999. Mr Mandela died in 2013 at the age of 95. He had turned into a global brand, with businessmen and artists cashing in on his name. Mr Duncan, who now lives in Canada, bought the casts from mining group Harmony Gold in 2002 for about $31,000. Half of the money paid to Harmony Gold was meant to go to charity, but it remains unclear as to whether that happened, Bloomberg news agency reports.

Harmony said it had “supplied Mr Duncan with the necessary paperwork verifying the provenance as requested by his attorneys,” but declined to comment on what happened to the donation, Bloomberg reports. The casts, which weigh around 20lb (9kg), include Mr Mandela’s hand, palm and fist. They are part of a collection meant to mark the years the former president spent in prison on Robben Island. The artefacts are believed to be the only ones left in the world.

The other sets of the collection were ordered to be destroyed by Mr Mandela, Mr Duncan told Bloomberg. It was part of the former president’s attempt to control his copyright after a number of scandals, including forgery allegations, arose around the sale of art bearing his image and name. Arbitrade has paid Mr Duncan a bitcoin deposit that has been converted to $50,000, and the rest is expected to be paid in quarterly installments of at least $2m, Bloomberg reports.

Bio On Mandela:

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (/mænˈdɛlə/[1], Xhosa: [xoliɬaˈɬa manˈdɛla]; 18 July 1918 – 5 December 2013) was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and philanthropist, who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the country’s first black head of state and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. His government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid by tackling institutionalised racism and fostering racial reconciliation. Ideologically an African nationalist and socialist, he served as President of the African National Congress (ANC) party from 1991 to 1997.

A Xhosa, Mandela was born to the Thembu royal family in Mvezo, British South Africa. He studied law at the University of Fort Hare and the University of the Witwatersrand before working as a lawyer in Johannesburg. There he became involved in anti-colonial and African nationalist politics, joining the ANC in 1943 and co-founding its Youth League in 1944. After the National Party’s white-only government established apartheid, a system of racial segregation that privileged whites, he and the ANC committed themselves to its overthrow. Mandela was appointed President of the ANC’s Transvaal branch, rising to prominence for his involvement in the 1952 Defiance Campaign and the 1955 Congress of the People. He was repeatedly arrested for seditious activities and was unsuccessfully prosecuted in the 1956 Treason Trial. Influenced by Marxism, he secretly joined the banned South African Communist Party (SACP). Although initially committed to non-violent protest, in association with the SACP he co-founded the militant Umkhonto we Sizwe in 1961 and led a sabotage campaign against the government. In 1962, he was arrested for conspiring to overthrow the state and sentenced to life imprisonment in the Rivonia Trial.

Mandela served 27 years in prison, initially on Robben Island, and later in Pollsmoor Prison and Victor Verster Prison. Amid growing domestic and international pressure, and with fears of a racial civil war, President F. W. de Klerk released him in 1990. Mandela and de Klerk negotiated an end to apartheid and organised the 1994 multiracial general election in which Mandela led the ANC to victory and became President. Leading a broad coalition government which promulgated a new constitution, Mandela emphasised reconciliation between the country’s racial groups and created the Truth and Reconciliation Commission to investigate past human rights abuses. Economically, Mandela’s administration retained its predecessor’s liberal framework despite his own socialist beliefs, also introducing measures to encourage land reform, combat poverty, and expand healthcare services. Internationally, he acted as mediator in the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing trial and served as Secretary-General of the Non-Aligned Movement from 1998 to 1999. He declined a second presidential term and in 1999 was succeeded by his deputy, Thabo Mbeki. Mandela became an elder statesman and focused on combating poverty and HIV/AIDS through the charitable Nelson Mandela Foundation.

Mandela was a controversial figure for much of his life. Although critics on the right denounced him as a communist terrorist and those on the radical left deemed him too eager to negotiate and reconcile with apartheid’s supporters, he gained international acclaim for his activism. Widely regarded as an icon of democracy and social justice, he received more than 250 honours—including the Nobel Peace Prize—and became the subject of a cult of personality. He is held in deep respect within South Africa, where he is often referred to by his Xhosa clan name, Madiba, and described as the “Father of the Nation”.

Norway Produces 36,000megawatts Of Electricity For 5Million People; Nigeria Produces 3,600megawatts For 200M People

Norwegian Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens-Petter Kjemprud, speaks on how his home country relates with Nigeria in the areas of trade, health, education and infrastructural development, among others.

Let’s starts with how your country has been relating with Nigeria.

The relationship has been very strong in recent years; since I assumed office here about one and a half years ago, the Nigerian foreign minister has visited Norway twice and the Norwegian foreign minister was here twice. We have also had a number of other ministerial visits to Norway and our deputy minister visited Nigeria.

How about people to people relations?

We have had trade relations since the 1890s when Norway started exporting stock fish to the two ports of Lagos and Aba. We expanded on that with our relationship with the Nigerian Ministry of Agriculture which we cooperate with on research on fish resources and more than 50 Norwegian companies are now engaged in the oil sector. We also have many Nigerian students studying for degrees in oil engineering in Norway to strengthen the Nigerian oil sector.

What are the areas of cooperation that you think the Norwegian government may like to improve on with Nigeria?

We are very happy with the cooperation in the oil sector, so we will continue focusing on that; but we also believe that we have a good possibility in other sectors. For example, we have a Norwegian company engaged in a big solar plant in Jigawa; we are also looking into other areas of the solar power industry mainly in the off grid system. Norway has comparative advantage in hydro power; we produce 99 per cent of our electricity from hydro power. What that means is that we have a lot of capacity in the hydro power sector which can contribute significantly to ensuring better energy supply in Nigeria. Norway produces 36,000megawatts from hydro power for five million people while Nigeria produces, on a good day, 3,600megawatts for 200million people, which means that Nigeria has to produce its power from generators and from the use of diesel which is expensive and does not benefit manufacturing in the country. So we believe renewable, solar and hydro power has potentials in Nigeria and will benefit the economy immensely and in particular the manufacturing sector; we produce ten times more than Nigeria and for far less number of people. So it is  an obvious area that we could cooperate and where we would be happy to work closely with Nigeria.

What is the volume of trade between the two countries?

Statistics is always difficult but the total volume of trade is around $10billion annually which is mainly in the oil sector, which includes subsea, offshore, repairs; shipping is another big area in our relationship. We have approximately one Norwegian ship docking in Lagos everyday which means we are ever present in the port of Lagos. We have a small amount of ships docking in Port Harcourt but we are putting a lot of emphasis on good cooperation with the Nigeria Ports Authority to have efficient services in Lagos and Port Harcourt which is important for Norwegian shipping.

How many Norwegian companies are based in Nigeria?

More than 50 Norwegian companies are doing business in Nigeria and they are organised along with their Nigerian sister companies in the Nigeria-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce based in Lagos. The embassy is working very closely with the Nigeria-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce to promote an expand business between our two countries.

Do we have any Nigerian company based in Norway?

I don’t think there are Nigerian companies based in Norway but there are Nigerian companies investing in Norway.

How much money can the Norwegian government say it has invested to assist in the North-East?

We hosted the Nigerian-Lake Chad Humanitarian Conference in February last year, which came out with almost $700million in commitments; Norway made a commitment over a three year period of approximately 100million Norwegian Koren which is in the range of $20million a year over a three year period but depending on the needs we are adding to that. As you probably know, we are also the biggest par capital donor to the general funds to organisations like UNICEF, UNHCR and UNDP. So we have direct assistance through programmes worked out here and indirectly through the organizations. So we are scaling up and we are in dialogue now with the government and the UN about what can be done to attract more commitments to the situation as the situation is today in the North-East but also to move from humanitarian assistance to development activities.

Norway is a very big country that has a good educational standard and health as well and Nigeria has a dilapidated health sector; is Norway maybe trying to assist Nigeria in the health sector?

This week I would be participating in the mission from the Gavi, the vaccine initiative whose organisation is heavily supporting the Nigerian vaccines to kids in primary health care and so on and we met with the vice president a couple of days ago and different ministers and we hope to have continued assistance to Nigeria through the Gavi initiative, through the WHO and other organizations to improve the health situation which is in a terrible state.

We are the third biggest contributor to the Gavi, the vaccine alliance and that way we hope to help contribute to improved health standard. But it also demands because that was what we discussed with the vice president, the minister of health and the minister of budget planning that Nigeria has to also make commitments to the health sector themselves. As it is today, the Federal Government spends only 0.6 per cent of its budget on the health sector which is lower than any other country on the African continent, so the government has to do more and, based on the strong commitment from the government, the international community, including Norway, we will actually contribute.

What about the education sector?

It is somehow the same. I am concerned that if you look at the education sector, there is too much emphasis people tend to revert to private education because government education is not up to standard, so something has to be improved in that sector. I met with the minister of education on another issue, we are trying to help the national library to digitalize the cultural heritage of Nigeria, in the languages of Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba and it is a big project which will make the written literature of Nigeria available to everyone. I also had the opportunity to discuss with the minister if he could enable more cooperation outside what we do in the North-East.

Do you have the number of students?

30 Nigerians are graduating this year under scholarship.

Do you have any other thing to tell Nigerians?

First of all, I would like to say that the people and the human capacity here in Nigeria are enormous. As an example, Nigerians graduating from US educational institutions have the best results and it is same thing with Nigerians in Norway. The human capital of this country is enormous. I think Nigeria is performing below what they can do and if you manage to get all of the creativity, human capital and innovation together, Nigeria should take its normal place which is among the top countries of the world. So why are things like this? I don’t know. I used to say it is 20 per cent about politics and 80 per cent about organization. So maybe the society needs to be organised somewhat different. Nigeria is underperforming and something needs to be done to change that. And in whatever way the international community to which Norway is a part could help in reorganizing and getting all these potentials out to benefit the people of Nigeria, I am sure that all my colleagues and the entire international community will be happy to cooperate with Nigeria on that.

Photos: Meet Ruben Enaje The Man Who Has Been Nailed To The Cross Every Year For 32years To Re-enact Jesus Christ’s Crucifixion

Ruben Enaje is a Philippine man who has been nailed to a cross every Easter for the past 32 years in a Good Friday re-enactment of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion who says he no longer feels any pain from his wounds.

The 58 year old actor again portrayed Christ on Friday in the traditional religious rite in Cutud village, about 76 km (47 miles) from the capital Manila. “In the past, I went home injured and limping, but this year I feel so great,” Enaje said after the ritual held under a scorching sun.

He said he believed his strong Catholic faith helped him avoid pain. “I feel like he is telling me ‘go ahead, keep it up’,” he said, referring to God. Easter is a festival marking the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ.

About 80 percent of the 105 million people in the Philippines, a former Spanish colony, are Catholic. Enaje said he felt strong enough to perform in two or three more crucifixions, until he turns 60. Enaje was among three devotees nailed to wooden crosses in the village on Friday, including a woman taking part for the seventh time.

Actors wearing Roman soldier costumes attached the devotees to crosses by hammering two-inch nails soaked in alcohol through their hands and feet and hoisted them up in a field packed with domestic and foreign tourists.

The Catholic Church in the Philippines tolerates the ritual but says it does not support such gory displays of devotion, describing them as a “misinterpretation of faith”. Many Catholics in the Philippines perform religious acts of penance during the Holy Week at Easter as a form of worship and supplication. Some believe penance cleanses sins, cures illnesses and even leads to wishes coming true.

“God Has A Tattoo On His Hand, Having A Tattoo Is Not A Sin” – Evangelist Joyce Meyer Defends Tattoos, Says She Might Also Get One

During a recent conference, American Christian speaker and evangelist Joyce Meyer made a biblical case for getting tattoos and admitted she has been thinking of getting one herself just to shut the mouths of religious people.

The video clip posted by Joyce Meyer Ministries kicked off with Meyer explaining the difference between being holy and religious.

“Holiness is not legalism,” Meyer declared.

She went on to explain that religious people have made a mess of holiness by putting a bunch of rules and regulations on people. She listed drinking, dancing, wearing makeup and more among those rules.

According to Christian Post, Meyer quoted Isaiah 44:5 in defence of getting permanent markings. The scripture says,

“One will say, I am the Lord’s; and another will call himself by the name of Jacob; and another will write [even brand or tattoo] upon his hand, I am the Lord’s, and surname himself by the [honorable] name of Israel.”

She also shared the counterargument often used to discourage believers from getting tattoos found in Leviticus 19:28: “Do not cut your bodies for the dead and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the LORD.”

Televangelist Pat Robertson, among others, has cited Leviticus to argue that getting tattoos is a “heathen practice.”

“You look at the Bible, the people are told not to mark their bodies and cut themselves like the heathen did. Tattooing is a heathen practice, it is not a Christian practice,”Robertson said in 2016.

But Meyer rejected the argument and contended that God also tattooed those He loves to Himself.

“The Bible says in Isaiah 49 that God has a picture of you tattooed on the palm of His hand,” she maintained.

“I’m right on the verge of going and getting a tattoo,” she added, pointing to her shoulder blade. “I thought I might as well just push all the religious people right off the cliff and just get it over with.”

Meyer said her ink would say, “I belong to the Lord.” She admitted that her husband pushed back a bit on her stance but they realized it was just a religious stance stemming from legalism.

Tattoo:

A tattoo is a form of body modification where a design is made by inserting ink, dyes and pigments, either indelible or temporary, into the dermis layer of the skin to change the pigment. Tattoos fall into three broad categories: purely decorative (with no specific meaning); symbolic (with a specific meaning pertinent to the wearer); pictorial (a depiction of a specific person or item). Tattoos have historically been regarded in the West as ‘uncivilised’, and over the last 100 years the fashion has been associated mainly with sailors, working men and criminals. By the end of the 20th Century many Western stigmas of the tattoo culture had been dismissed and the practice has become more acceptable and accessible for people of all trades and levels of society.

More On Joyce Meyer:

Joyce Meyer (born Pauline Joyce Hutchison; June 4, 1943) is a Charismatic Christian author and speaker and president of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Meyer and her husband Dave have four grown children, and live outside St. Louis, Missouri. Her ministry is headquartered near the St. Louis suburb of Fenton, Missouri.

Meyer speaks humorously, sharing with her audience her own shortcomings and taking playful jabs at stereotypical church behavior. A particular crowd favorite is the “robot” routine, in which she goes into a stiff-armed imitation of a robot chanting “What about me? What about me?”

In 2016, Joyce Meyer’s website claimed that she had an earned Phd. She now states according to Joyce Meyer Ministries, Meyer was presented with an honorary doctoral degree from Life Christian University, an unaccredited institution in Tampa, Florida. Meyer has been given an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity by Oral Roberts University, an accredited institution in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Meyer, who owns several homes and travels in a private jet (currently a Gulfstream G-IV), has been criticized by some of her peers[who?] for living an excessive lifestyle. She responded that she doesn’t have to defend her spending habits because “…there’s no need for us to apologize for being blessed.”[11] Meyer commented, “You can be a businessman here in St. Louis, and people think the more you have, the more wonderful it is…but if you’re a preacher, then all of a sudden it becomes a problem.”

In November 2003, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch published a four-part special report detailing Meyer’s “$10 million corporate jet, her husband’s $107,000 silver-gray Mercedes sedan, her $2 million home and houses worth another $2 million for her four children,” a $20 million headquarters, furnished with “$5.7 million worth of furniture, artwork, glassware, and the latest equipment and machinery,” including a “$30,000 malachite round table, a $23,000 marble-topped antique commode, a $14,000 custom office bookcase, a $7,000 Stations of the Cross in Dresden porcelain, a $6,300 eagle sculpture on a pedestal, another eagle made of silver bought for $5,000, and numerous paintings purchased for $1,000 to $4,000 each,” among many other expensive items – all paid for by the ministry. The articles prompted Wall Watchers (a Christian nonprofit watchdog group) to call on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to investigate Meyer and her family.

Following the adverse publicity about her lifestyle and Ministry Watch’s request for an IRS probe, Meyer announced in 2004 plans to take a salary reduction from the $900,000 per year she had been receiving from Joyce Meyer Ministries (in addition to the $450,000 her husband received) and instead personally keep more of the royalties from her outside book sales which Meyer had previously donated back to Joyce Meyer Ministries. She now retains royalties on books sold outside the ministry through retail outlets such as Walmart, Amazon.com, and bookstores, while continuing to donate to her ministry royalties from books sold through her conferences, catalogues, website, and television program. “The net effect of all of this,” notes Ministry Watch, “was most likely a sizable increase in the personal compensation of Joyce Meyer and reduced revenues for JMM.” In an article in the St. Louis Business Journal, Meyer’s public relations director, Mark Sutherland, confirmed that her new income would be “way above” her previous levels. Joyce Meyer Ministries says it has made a commitment to maintain transparency in financial dealings, publish their annual reports, have a Board majority who are not Meyer relatives and submit to a voluntary annual audit. On December 18, 2008, this ministry received a “C” grade (71–80 score) for financial transparency from Ministry Watch.

Joyce Meyer Ministries was one of six investigated by the United States Senate inquiry into the tax-exempt status of religious organizations by Senator Chuck Grassley. The inquiry sought to determine if Meyer made any personal profit from financial donations, asking for a detailed accounting for such things as cosmetic surgery and foreign bank accounts and citing such expenses as the $23,000 commode mentioned earlier. Grassley also requested that Meyer’s ministry make the information available by December 6, 2007. In her November 29 response to Grassley, Meyer notes that the commode is a chest of drawers. Meyer writes that it was part of a large lot of items totaling $262,000 that were needed to furnish the ministry’s 150,000-square-foot (14,000 m2) headquarters purchased in 2001. She said the commode’s price tag was an “errant value” assigned by the selling agent and apologized for “not paying close attention to specific ‘assigned values’ placed on the pieces.” Joyce Meyer Ministries responded with a newsletter to its e-mail list subscribers on November 9, 2007. Now she will spend the rest of her life in a military prison without a child of her own. The man though dead, has a child to carry on his name. Stupid actions degat dare consequences

You would have asked yourself what is really important and then have the courage to build your life around your answer instead of killing him

there are better ways of getting back to people than killing them…now you’ll cool off in prison.

That wasn’t the best thing to do but y will a married man keep a secret child in the first place.. If he had the child before the wedlock what prevented him from telling his wife .if he had it after wedlock then he brought the stabbing upon himself

Nigerian Man Is Giving Out His SUV To Anybody Who Mentions 2 Projects President Buhari Initiated And Completed

Few days ago, the President Buhari administration celebrated its third year in power, and what Nigerians on social media have been asking for, are projects he initiated and completed.

This man is giving out his SUV to anybody who mentions two projects Buhari initiated and completed lailasnews

A Nigerian man and Facebook user, Victor Ezeanochie, took a rather radical move in finding out projects started and completed by the present administration. According to him, he will be giving out his Lexus 300 SUV to anybody who mentions two projects initiated and completed by President Buhari.

His post reads;

BONANZA!! BONANZA!! BONANZA!!

I, HON VICTOR EZENDIGBO hereby resolve to give away my Lexus 300 jeep to anybody particularly buharists and buharians who can mention just two projects initiated, completed and commissioned by this present buhari led APC govt.
All documents to this vehicle is ready for grab.
GOODLUCK..

Nobody has won the prize which came with the post, which has long garnered 132 comments and 236 shares.

There’s also a tweet on projects initiated and completed by President Buhari’s government, in its 3 years in power. The tweet announced that anyone who mentions projects initiated and completed by President Buhari, will get 350k as a prize.

Twitter influencer @Sire_liljosh who confirmed the tweet, wrote;

Someone challenged Nigerians to name ONE federal government project initiated, completed and commissioned by Buhari since he came to power 3 years ago and win N20k The prize is now N350,000 and people still haven’t found one!!! Just ONE project o o

This is after trillions of money have been recovered, given and borrowed. But Baba have cows and a mud house and he is fighting corruption.

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, also lent his voice to call for landmark achievement of the Buhari’s government. His tweets reads;

At this point, VP @ProfOsinbajo must be told to stop singing this old song of blame. Nigerians are no longer interested in what PDP did or failed to do.Rather, they are interested in what the APC govt has done and the VP should just tell Nigerians the achievements of their govt.

Today, even prosecution witnesses are suddenly disappearing in corruption cases involving those who have decamped to the APC and properties once seized are being returned to them. Obviously, PDP has purged itself of corrupt elements in its fold and offloaded them to the APC.
If VP @ProfOsinbajo can look around himself with honest eyes, he will see majority of those who called the shots during the previous PDP govts that he claimed mismanaged the country’s resources holding sensitive positions in the present govt.
Despite being a Professor of Law, the VP defended @officialEFCC Ag. Chairman, Magu that was indicted of corruption by the DSS, an agency under the President, by saying that Magu do not need the National Assembly to clear him. He is always jumping to defend what is indefensible.
Today, the most difficult question any student can be asked to answer in an examination is to list just five landmark achievements of the APC government in which Prof Osinbajo is the Vice President.
It was under three years that PDP government solved communication problems in Nigeria by providing Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) that has made it possible for Nigerians to use internet, social media and even bank in the comfort of their homes.
It is almost three years; Prof Osinbajo should tell Nigerians what their government did and stop blame-game please.

Nigerian Pastor Appreciates His Wife By Building A Multi Million Naira Mansion For Her For Marrying Him While Still Very Poor

A Nigerian Pastor, Surpriser David Ekwueme, has taken to Facebook to celebrate his wife who stood by him when he was broke and had nothing.

Pastor David Ekwueme who celebrated his wife’s birthday on his Facebook page, revealed how his wife treated him like a king and even agreed to marry him despite the fact that he was broke.
His post reads;

THE WOMAN THAT SAID YES, TO ME WHEN I HAVE NO HOUSE OF MY OWN, AND CANNOT FEED MYSELF STILL LEAVING WITH SOMEONE. I HAD NO MONEY IN MY POCKET AND BANK ACCOUNT, BUT SHE LOVED ME AND TREATED ME AS A KING. TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY MY SURPRISE TO HER WAS TO TAKE HER TO OUR NEW HOME AND SHE WAS ASTONISHED.
FRIENDS WISH HER WELL FOR ME….
PAPA SURPRISER IS MY NAME….

Pastor Surpriser David Ekwueme is not the only Nigerian Pastor that has celebrated his wife for standing with him when he was broke. In 2017, General Overseer, Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, who recently acquired a private jet, presented a cheque of N30million to his wife.

The Prophet said that he owes his wife love, as she stood with him when he had nothing till now. Reading from Ephesians 5:25, Fufeyin said that husband should love their wives as Christ loved the Church, insisting that was why he has to celebrate his wife in a special way. Kanayo who anchored the brief birthday oration, advised couples to live in love and harmony, supporting one another. He urged Nigerians to love one another and believe in the country, insisting the future is bright. I was detained for hours, and the video forcefully deleted of which unknowing to them, i had already forwarded one successfully to my sister via WhatsApp.

Then my phone was smashed and seized. Imagine going to report an assault by a policeman and i get detained instead saying a policeman can do whatever he likes and that videoing a policeman is an offence.

The dpo , a woman was in full support of the policeman, ordered that i get detained saying i wanted to video to post and she will not let that happen. I was detained from 2pm till 7pm. This is INJUSTICE !!!

The police who should protect us are the ones victimising is and this should change. It is not just fair. We all should say no to police brutality.” Bibi Anne’

Yesterday, Big Brother Naija housemates, Teddy A and Alex were playfully challenging themselves in the kitchen.

Alex who has always seen Teddy A as an elder brother figure was chest-bumping him and acting rouge, then she made a move by grabbing his male organ and in retaliation, Teddy A dragged her, placed her on the floor and touched her boobs, until other housemates came to her aid.

Recall that yesterday, Khloe and TeddyA had what seems to be an exchange of words over a piece of meat.

This came after the housemates were visited by Super Eagles stars, Joseph Yobo and Victor Ekpeba.

After the legends concluded their visit and exited the BBNaija house, Khloe confronted fellow housemate, Teddy A, over a piece of meat.

The reason for her outburst was that Teddy A, took the piece of meat she cooked from the pot.

Khloe who is yet to spend three days since her comeback to the house, told Teddy A, “I cook meat and you went to the pot and take it; and you are a man.

“I cook this meat and I am going to serve it; Teddy, you do this thing all the time. I will ‘F’ you up,” she angrily jabbed at him.

Teddy in his response said he was going to mess her up in the house adding, “I will show that I get ‘Wahala’; are you the one that bought the meat”.

He then challenged her to beat him if she could.

During the exchange of unprintable words, some of the housemates tried to pacify Teddy and Khloe.

After a short while, Anto who was given another chance with Khloe to be in the game came into the kitchen to assist Khloe.

She admonished Khloe not to bother about the meat Teddy took.

“Pope Francis Did Not Say Hell Does Not Exist, The Journalist Who Conducted The Interview Misquoted Him” – Vatican Says

The Vatican on Thursday worked to set the record straight on whether Pope Francis denied the existence of hell in an interview with a well-known Italian journalist.

The controversy started when 93-year-old journalist Eugenio Scalfari, the founder of La Repubblica newspaper, publisheda report that heasked Francis where “bad souls” end up going, USA Today reported.

Francis’ reply, according to the journalist, was that those who repent could be forgiven but those who do not, “disappear.” The article, which ran on March 29, reported that Francis said “hell does not exist.”

“They are not punished, those who repent obtain the forgiveness of God and enter the rank of souls who contemplate him, but those who do not repent and cannot therefore be forgiven disappear,” Francis is quoted as saying.

“There is no hell, there is the disappearance of sinful souls.” Scalfari, an atheist, does not usually use tape recorders during interviews, The USA Today report said.

The Vatican said the story was the result of the reporter’s “reconstruction.” “What is reported by the author in today’s article is the result of his reconstruction, in which the literal words pronounced by the Pope are not quoted,” the Vatican said.

“No quotation of the aforementioned article must therefore be considered as a faithful transcription of the words of the Holy Father.” The Catholic News Agency reported that Scalfari has “misrepresented” the pope in the past.

The agency reported that Scalfari “aslo falsely reported that Pope Francis had made comments denying the existence of hell in 2015.” According to Catholic Church teachings, there is a hell and it is for eternity.

The Vatican denied Thursday an Italian journalist’s report in which he says Pope Francis told him “hell does not exist, the disappearance of sinful souls exists.” The Vatican press office says that although the pope met with La Repubblica co-founder Eugenio Scalfari, Francis did not give an interview to him, said Thomas Rosica, an English-language spokesman for the Vatican.

It’s not the first time that Scalfari, who has said he is an atheist, has made claims about the pope’s views, but the reference to the pope’s views on hell spread on social media during Holy Week.

The Vatican released a statement calling the article by Scalfari “the fruit of his reconstruction,” Rosica said.

Scalfari’s interview, published Thursday, quoted the pope as saying during a meeting that while the souls of repentant sinners “receive the forgiveness of God and go among the line of souls who contemplate him, the souls of those who are unrepentant, and thus cannot be forgiven, disappear.”

According to the National Catholic Reporter, the statement from the Vatican said that the pope and Scalfari had a “private meeting” with an Easter greeting but not an interview. The Catholic News Agency noted that it was their fifth meeting.

“No quotes of the aforementioned article should therefore be considered as a faithful transcription of the Holy Father’s words,” the statement said.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says, “The teaching of the Church affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, ‘eternal fire.’ The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs.”

Meanwhile, the pope’s Holy Thursday included a visit to the Regina Coeli prison in which he told inmates that he plans to have eye surgery next year, according to an Associated Press report. He washed the feet of 12 inmates at the prison, then wiped them and kissed them as part of the Holy Week ritual that he started when he was archbishop of Buenos Aires, according to the Vatican.

Photos: Pope Francis Washes The Feet Of Nigerian Prisoners In The Spirit Of Good Friday

Pope Francis washed prisoners’ feet at a Rome jail on Thursday, including two Muslims, an Orthodox Christian and a Buddhist, once again choosing to celebrate Holy Thursday among Italy’s incarcerated.

“Everyone always has the opportunity to change life and one cannot judge,” said Francis to the prisoners of the city’s all-male Regina Coeli prison. It is the fourth time in the pope’s five year papacy that he has celebrated the Holy Mass in an Italian jail.

“For me, visiting the sick, going into prison, making the prisoner feel that he can have hope of rehabilitation, that is the preaching of the Church,” said Francis in a recent book of interviews.

During the Mass, the Pope washed the feet of 12 prisoners, as he has done on three former occasions.

This year, the inmates included eight Catholics, two Muslims, one Orthodox Christian, and one Buddhist. They came from different countries, including the Philippines, Nigeria, Colombia, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Moldova, and Italy.
