Pastor Oyedepo Spotted At Obasanjo’s House For Meeting With Atiku
The General Overseer of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has arrived the residence of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Oyedepo’s visit comes while Obasanjo is in a meeting with his former Vice, Atiku Abubakar.
But it is not certain if both visits are connected.
DAILY POST reports that the meeting is being held at the residence of the ex-president within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.
Atiku arrived his former boss’ premises at about 1:05pm.
The former VP was accompanied by his campaign Director-General and former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, and Senator Murray Ben-Bruce, among others.

A young man has taken to a social media platform to share the horrific story of how his security guard divided his head with a machete as he miraculously survived the shocking attack.
Tunde William-Funmilayo said he took his security guard, Jonathan, as a brother, and as a result, invited him to stay inside his house in Ibadan to make him more comfortable.
But on the night of October 10, 2017, Jonathan came into his room to attack him along with another security guard friend.
Tunde fought but sustained horrible stab wounds to his head and face after he was slashed with a machete.
Thankfully, he survived the attack on his life.

A Nigerian man identified as Chris Nwogu who is a member of the Daystar Christian Center in Lagos, has threatened to leave the church following a church leader, Chude Jideonwo’s support for gay rights.
Recently, Chude had an interview with LITV, where he stated that he is in support of gay rights and would repeal the anti-gay law if he is elected president.

Reacting to Chude’s comment, Chris said Chude who is supposed to be a Christian should not be supporting gays.
He said any day Chude is allowed to come on the pulpit in the church again to teach, he would leave with his family.

Angela on black female representation in Black Panther: The women were integral to the storytelling and the wisdom that the main character possessed. It was really important in terms of the representation of black feminine strength.
Danai on her wig-snatching scene: I loved doing that, from the minute she’s wearing that wig and complaining about it, to the minute she gets rid of it very pragmatically. That spoke to so many things about feminine aesthetics.
Lupita on relating to her character: Nakia was a departure from the character you see in the comic books. She is an independent woman and a bit of a rebel but also a loyalist to her country. I am also someone who depends on my family and friends and feels a connection to my people, and maybe has a sense of responsibility to make them proud. So I really related to that balancing act within oneself.

The search for General Alkali
A COUPLE of weeks after he retired from the Nigerian Army as its Chief of Administration, Major-General Idris Alkali went missing on his way from Abuja to Bauchi through Jos on September 3, 2018.
This touched off a massive search operation as ordered by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Tukur Buratai. While embarking on the search, the Army Headquarters through its Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Kayode Ogunsanya, assured members of the public that it would be conducted with utmost professionalism.

This assurance became necessary when indigenes of the villages around Dura-Du District near Jos where the retired officer was suspected to have gone missing started fleeing their homes in fear of a military operation.
According to the statement: “The attention of Headquarters 3 Division has been drawn to reports that the residents of Dura-Du District have fled and abandoned their homes and business premises to avoid being clamped down by the troops involved in the Search and Rescue Operation for the missing retired senior officer.
“Please be informed that the Nigerian Army is a professional organisation that conducts its operations with international best practices and respect for fundamental human rights”.
Boko Haram: Victory as a sad reality
We are seriously worried that following the recovery of the General’s car in a derelict mining pond in Dura-Du, reports of indiscriminate “intimidation” of journalists covering the sad event and also members of the public are mounting.
The Plateau State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists on Monday, October 8, 2018, issued a statement threatening the boycott of military activities if its officers continued with the “arbitrary harassment, intimidation and arrest” of its members and members of the public as part of the search activities.
The NUJ lamented the arrest and detention of a Correspondent for 28 hours. We share the grief of the Army and members of the family of the missing General. We support all efforts to rescue him alive or recover his remains in the sad event that he has lost his life.
We also look forward to the unravelling of the circumstances behind his disappearance, especially as other vehicles have also been recovered from the mining pond. The Army’s search is a patriotic duty and personal obligation to its missing officer.
We, however, plead with the military authorities to keep their words on the need to be as professional as possible in the search. We do not see how the detention of a journalist helped the mission as there was no evidence that he was connected to the incident.

We need all hands on deck in this mission. The military needs the cooperation and support of the public, especially indigenes of the vicinity, to succeed in the search. They should provide an enabling atmosphere for that.

Seventy-six Boko Haram terrorists, among others, trying to overrun Nigeria’s military formation in Metele, near Kangarwa in Borno, have been killed.
In what was a double blow to the terrorists, Chadian troops also killed another 48 terrorists on the same day.
According to the Nigerian Army Twitter posts, the gallant troops of the 157 Battalion overwhelmed the terrorists, with superior firepower, as they attempted to attack Nigerian positions on 8 October.
“The sustained superior firepower of the troops led to the neutralisation of 76 BHT. Unfortunately, the Nigerian Army lost seven soldiers while 16 were wounded in action.
The Chief of army staff, Lt. General Buratai has commiserated with the families of the deceased and directed that the wounded be given adequate medical attention”.
In Chad, eight soldiers and 48 Boko Haram militants were killed in clashes on Wednesday, officials said. The early morning attack took place in Kaiga Kindji in the Lake Chad region, army spokesman Azem Agouna said, adding that 11 other soldiers were wounded.
The Boko Haram terrorists also regularly launch offensives in Niger and Cameroon. Since 2009, tens of thousands of people in the region have died at the hands of the Sunni fundamentalists and an estimated 2.5 million people fled their homes. The group’s goal is to enforce a strict interpretation of Islamic law, or sharia.

Governor Amosun set to dump APC alongside his loyalists.
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun set to dump APC alongside his loyalists over the refusal of the National Working Committee of the party to declare his candidate Adekunle Akinlade as the winner of the party’s governorship primary election, New Telegraph reports.
A meeting preparatory to Amosun’s defection was held on Wednesday night at his private residence located at Ibara GRA, Abeokuta.
Governor Amosun set to dump APC alongside his loyalists
In attendance at the meeting were APC members from the 20 local government areas of the state, who were loyal to the governor, as well as top government functionaries in the state.
The state chapter of APC had been engulfed in crisis following the adoption of an oil magnate, Prince Dapo Abiodun, as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for 2019 as against Amosun’s choice.
A highly placed source, who was present at the meeting on Wednesday night, confirmed the plan to pull out of the APC.
According to the source, Amosun briefed his loyalists on the outcome of his meetings with President Muhammadu Buhari as well as the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, which were not favourable.
The source said the governor informed his loyalists that rather than address the pending issue, the party leadership in Abuja asked him to share the National and State Assembly tickets with certain individuals in the state who never participated in the just concluded governorship and legislative primaries.
The governor was said to have berated those who manipulated the primary election to produce Abiodun as against the consensus governorship candidate of the party, Akinlade.
Amosun, the source added, made it clear that he could not work with Abiodun because he lacked the wherewithal to win elections.
According to him, Abiodun who could not win a senatorial district election in 2015 will be unable to win the whole of Ogun State in 2019.

Rapper Fabolous indicted on four felony counts for assaulting his babymama Emily B
Rapper, Fabolous has reportedly been indicted by a New Jersey grand jury for allegedly assaulting his longtime girlfriend and former Love & Hip Hop star, Emily Bustamante.
According to reports, the rapper born John David Jackson is facing four felony charges, which include one count of “domestic violence with significant bodily injury, [two] counts of threatening to kill and [one] count of possession of a weapon…a pair of scissors.
Back in March, TMZ published a video of a tense encounter between Fabolous, Bustamante and her father. In the video, the two men are seen arguing while Fabulous holds a pair of scissors and threatens to shoot the older man.
The confrontation reportedly occurred three weeks after Bustamante accused Fabolous, the father of her two sons, of punching her several times and knocking two of her teeth out.
The rapper has since denied the abuse allegations, but if he’s convicted on any of the indicted felonies, he could face up to five years in prison for each charge.

Atiku in his response released by his media organization, reminded the APC that the former president has run more successful business enterprises unlike President Buhari.
“We wish to remind APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, that Atiku Abubakar is not like President Buhari who has never run a successful private business throughout his life.
Unlike Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar is an expert job creator who has founded many successful and thriving businesses including the American University of Nigeria, Yola; a microfinance bank that has moved 45,000 families out of poverty and Rica Gado, a livestock feed company that has significantly reduced instances of herdsmen/farmers clashes by providing a business-friendly solution instead of asking Nigerians to give up their lands for cattle ranching or face death, as the Buhari government did.” the statement read
Atiku urged the Buhari Presidency and the APC to mention even one successful private endeavour that the President had successfully run.
